The Department of Agricultural, Food, and Resource Economics at Michigan State University is currently recruiting for the following faculty positions.

Assistant Professor - International Development Economist
The Department of Agricultural, Food, and Resource Economics at Michigan State University is seeking an Assistant Professor to join the Food Security Group (FSG) under the project titled “Strengthening Impact Assessment of the CGIAR” (SIAC). This is a fixed-term non-tenure system position based on campus. The successful candidate will contribute to developing, testing, piloting and validating innovative methods for the collection and assembly of technology diffusion data, to institutionalizing the collection of data needed to conduct impact evaluations, and to writing reports, peer-reviewed publications, and other project deliverables. The candidate will provide intellectual and managerial leadership in implementing project activities and collaborate with partners and international organizations that generate farm level data on agricultural production and practices. Assistant/Associate/Full Professor - Agricultural Policy Advisor
The Department is seeking a qualified candidate to join its Food Security Group (FSG) to work as an Agricultural Policy Advisor based full-time in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania for 2 years.  The successful candidate will provide mentoring, short-term training, and analytical capacity within the Policy/Planning Unit of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Cooperatives (MAFC) as well as technical assistance to the newly-formed inter-ministerial coordination unit for agricultural sector policy.  The candidate will also collaborate with faculty from FSG and Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) on concurrent empirical research and policy outreach activities on strategies for sustainable smallholder-led agricultural intensification and increased staple food crop productivity.  Please see the position description for details.
