Ruben Derderian is Associate Director Bioeconomy for the Product Center for Agriculture and Natural resources where he provides mentoring and business counseling to start-up and existing ventures that wish to develop products that support the Bioeconomy of Michigan.

Prior to joining the Product Center in 2008, Ruben was principle consultant for his consulting company and provided management consulting services to Michigan start-up companies.  Ruben has also served as CEO of Draeger Medical where he was responsible for five operating divisions. He has held other  corporate-level management positions as President of Leica (US), VP of the Milcare Division of Herman Miller, President of Sharplan Lasers, and VP of Spacelabs Medical Systems.
